Description:
Ethiopia is located in north-eastern Africa, a mountainous country with the Great Rift Valley being a prominent feature. It has thirty endemic birds some being shared with Eritrea. In addition to this many range-restricted birds are present which only occur in neighbouring Somalia or northern Kenya. Our tours cover the migration periods of March and October when bird activity and migration is at its peak. We visit Awash National Park, Jemma Valley and the crater-lake complex running south from Addis Ababa the capital to Awassa. Further south, around the regional towns of Yabello and Negele, three of the countries endemic birds occur, Stresemanns Bush Crow, Ruspolis Turaco and White-tailed Swallow. A highlight of Ethiopia is the remote and beautiful Bale Mountains National Park home to Ethiopian Wolf and the range-restricted White-backed Black Tit. Towards the end of the tour we visit Wondo Genet for endemic Yellow-fronted Parrots. This tour to Ethiopia ensures outstanding birding and sightings of rare mammals in the Ethiopian Highlands. Meseret Mekuria is one of Ethiopias leading bird guides with an extensive knowledge of birds and mammals. Why we think you should book with us:
